The heart of Saluda’s closed loop control system is a unique bio amplifier design that records the response of neurons to stimulation (called electrically evoked compound action potentials or ECAPS). This revolutionary technology opens up a vast range of neuromodulation applications, including:

Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS)

Saluda has already identified techniques for targeting and for closed loop control in DBS applications. These techniques promise to improve outcomes and also shorten the time for recipients of the technology to reach their optimal outcome.

Peripheral and Other Nerves

Saluda has demonstrated that it is possible to stimulate in the periphery and record from the spinal column which will allow more accurate placement of spinal cord stimulation systems. It is also possible to measure ECAPS from other nerves including the Sciatic, Tibial and Vagus nerve.

Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS)

Most SCS systems rely on patients to use their remote controller to continually adjust stimulation levels. The Evoke System is designed to continuously measure the body’s response to stimulation, and can be programmed to automatically adjust stimulation levels to the patient’s preferred level.
